This classic
Seattle brick home was built in 1927, and the remodel was designed
by the architect who bought it and lives in it now. The new exterior
is stucco, which harmonizes with the retained brick façade on
the front.
Some of the original features were saved in the living and dining room,
and enhanced with the new design of the kitchen and family room.
In the kitchen Meile appliances were set into custom bamboo cabinets and
feature a built-in coffee maker/espresso machine. A gas range and sinks with
the commercial faucets are set into the granite countertops. Custom cast glass
tiles behind the range, and a large greenhouse window completes the light and
airy feeling in this central room.
The main floor bath has a carved stone vessel sink which sits on a wood
slab countertop. Custom cabinets and closets with shoji screens were built for
the bedroom and studio. |
